With over three decades of experience with the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), Major Crisp commanded over 200 State Police Detectives assigned to ten units throughout the state responsible for homicide, narcotics, violent fugitive apprehension, gang crimes and fire/explosives investigations and hazardous devise response. Major Crisp managed multi agency task forces and commanded over 200 uniform members of the MSP – for patrol function in all of Southeastern Massachusetts, Major Crisp also directed treat/risk assessment and critical infrastructure protection of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant, Brayton Power Plant, the Cape Cod Canal and bridges as well as the Mass Military Reservation, including PAVE PAWS, the Air Force Missile Defense Radar for North America.

In addition, Maj. Crisp oversaw security, policy development, threat risk assessment and protection of dignitaries/critical infrastructure at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in Boston 2004. Maj. Crisp also supervised the Suffolk Detective Unit and Central Narcotic Unit which included multi-jurisdictional investigations with the FBI, DEA, Customs and ATF. Major Crisp also held FBI Secret Clearance.
